Abstract:This study some of the problems formulated as follows: (1) whether there is influence of the
application of guided inquiry method and modified free of biology students’ learning outcomes and (2)
what the students’ response to the application of learning with guided and modified free inquiry methods.
This study is a quasi-experiment (quasi experimental design) with the experimental design used is the Non
Random Pre-test Post-test Control Group to reveal a causal relationship by engaging with the control
group and experimental group. Thus the results of this test can be concluded that there is a significant
difference in student learning outcomes that studied using guided inquiry learning methods, modifiedfree
inquiry and conventional
