CONTEXTUAL TEACHING AND LEARNING DENGAN MODEL NUMBERED HEADS TOGETHER PADA PELAJARAN BIOLOGI

Abstract


Abstract: MTs Surya Buana had never implemented CTL-NHT before. The teaching and learning activities in this school use lecturing method with the help of visual media and LCD, so the students had low learning motivation. An alternative to solve the problems was by implementing CTL-NHT in the teaching and learning process. This is a Quasi Experimental Research with ’control group, pre-test, post-test’ design. Data analysis using Ancova statistical analysis technique. The samples of the research are Class VII A which consisted of 25 pupils as the control group and Class VII B consisting of 19 pupils as the experiment group. Based on the result of the research, teaching and learning process using CTL-NHT is proven to be effective in improving the students’ motivation and learning outcome; therefore, it can be used as an alternative in Biology instruction at schools.
