Author Guidelines

Instructions for (Candidates) Writers

JOURNAL OF BUSINESS AND MANAGEMENT EDUCATION/ JURNAL PENDIDIKAN BISNIS DAN MANAJEMEN (JPBM)

 

1. Articles written for JPBM include research results and review results (invitation only) in the field of business education and management. The manuscript is typed in Times New Roman, 12 pts in size, with spaces at least 12 pt, printed on A4 paper for a maximum of 20 pages, and delivered in 3 print copies and CD / DVD. Files (files) are created in Microsoft Word. File submission can also be done as mail attachment to the address:jurnaljpbm@um.ac.id or submit at submissiin menu.

2. The name of the author of the article is listed without an academic degree and placed under the title of the article. The author's name should be completed with correspondence address and name and address of the institution where the research was conducted. In the case of a manuscript written by a team, editing only relates to the primary author or author whose name is listed in the first order. The author is required to include an e-mail address to facilitate communication.

3. Articles are written in Indonesian or English with an essay format, accompanied by a title in each section of the article, except the introductory section presented without the section title. The title of the article is printed in capital letters in the middle, with a letter of 14 points. The section title rating is expressed by different font types (all section headings and sub-sections are bold or bold and italic), and do not use numbers / numbers in the section title:

Rank 2 (Uppercase Small, Thick, Left Edge Left)
Rank 3 (Uppercase Small, Bold, Left Edge Left)

4. Systematic article of research results are: title; author's name (without an academic degree); abstract (maximum 200 words) containing the objectives, methods, and research results; keywords; introduction (without title) containing background, bit of literature review, and research objectives; method; results and Discussion; conclusions and suggestions; referral list (contains only referenced sources).

5. Systematic articles of the review are: title; author's name (without an academic degree); abstract (maximum of 200 words using English and Indonesian); keywords; introduction (without title) containing the background and purpose or scope of the article; main discussion (can be divided into several sub-sections); closing or conclusion; referral list (contains only referenced sources).

6. Referral sources are as much as possible libraries of the last 10 years. Preferred referrals are primary sources of research reports (including thesis, thesis, and dissertation) or research articles in scientific journals and / or magazines.

7. Referrals and quotes using reduced referral techniques (name, year: thing). The inclusion of the source to the direct quotation should be accompanied by a description of the page number from which the quotation originated. Example: (Davis, 2003: 47).

8. The list of references is arranged in the manner of the following examples and sorted alphabetically and chronologically.

Newspaper / story in newspaper (without author name):

9. The procedure of presenting quotations, references, tables, and drawings follows the provisions of the Scientific Writing Guidelines (State University of Malang, 2010) or the direct example of the procedures used in the articles that have been published. The Indonesian article uses the Enhanced Spellings Generalized Indonesian Guidelines (Depdikbud, 1987). Articles in English use a variety of standards.

10. All texts are reviewed anonymously by the best partner (reviewers) appointed by the editor in his field of expertise. The author of the article is given the opportunity to make improvements (revision) of the manuscript on the basis of recommendations / suggestions from bestari partners or editors. Certainty of loading or rejection of the manuscript will be notified in writing.

11. Inspection and editing of the prints is done by the editor and / or by involving the author. Articles that are already in print form may be unloaded by the editor if known to be problematic.

12. Anything involving licensing of quotations or the use of computer software for the making of manuscripts or other issues related to intellectual property authored by the author of the article, together with any legal consequences which may arise  thereof, shall be the sole responsibility of the author of the article.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
