RENDAHNYA KONSEP DIRI AKADEMIK SISWA SMP

Abstract


The purpose of this study was to determine causes of low academic self-concept of college students YPPK SMP Santo Mikael so can help overcome the problems of students in the academic field in order to obtain better academic achievement. The subjects were students of class VII and VIII as many as 15 student. This study uses a qualitative approach with the design of phenomenology. The results showed that students' academic self-concept is generally low due to the attitude of school students are not happy, not happy to learn, do not love to read, not proud of learning outcomes, and do not have time to study and do homework at home.

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui penyebab rendahnya konsep diri akademi siswa SMP YPPK Santo Mikael sehingga dapat membantu mengatasi permasalahan siswa dalam bidang akademiknya agar dapat memperoleh prestasi akademik yang lebih baik. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VII dan VIII sebanyak 15 orang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pendekatan kualitatif dengan rancangan fenomenologi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsep diri akademik siswa pada umumnya rendah tampak pada sikap siswa tidak senang sekolah, tidak senang belajar, tidak senang membaca, tidak bangga dengan hasil belajar, dan tidak memiliki waktu belajar dan mengerjakan PR di rumah.
