Hubungan Tingkat Berpikir Siswa dalam Geometri dengan Kemampuan Siswa dalam Geometri
Abstract
This research examined the relationship between the students' level of thinking and their ability in Geometry, and the relationship between their ages, level of thinking, and their ability in Geometry. The test Geometry concept development level and the test of ability in Geometry were tested to 747 students of the third year of 17 classes of 17 Junior High School in Jember. The research result shows that there is a significant relationship between students' level of thinking and their ability in Geometry and there is a reverse relationship which is neither significant between students ages and their ability in Geometry. This result supports the characteristic of van Hiele theory that students level of thinking in Geometry does not depend on the ages nor biological maturity.
