Abstract


Curriculum is designed to realize the national educational goals by taking into account students' developmental phases and by adjusting to environment, the national development needs, the development of science and technology as well as the types and levels of each educational units. In the mean time, models of curriculum design consist of several kinds, that is, humanistic curriculum, social-reconstruction curriculum, technological curriculum, and academic subject-matter curriculum. Changes of curriculum result in various educational changes, which in turn bring about social reforms. Furthermore, the curriculum system implemented in the era of regional autonomy must take into consideration the principles of democracy, community's participation, and regional potency.
