EDUKASI MASYARAKAT UNTUK MENGATASI MASALAH EKSPLOITASI GUMUK

Abstract

Abstract:Gumuk is a hill containing rocks, sand and soil. Gumuk serve as wind breaker, supporting local
climate, water resources, and habitats various animals and vegetation. Existence of gumuk threatenedby
mining rock and sand conducted by the community. The purpose of this study was to construct steps to
educate community in the preservation of gumuk. The method of this research done with interviews,
field observations and secondary data retrieval. The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive
qualitative. The results showed that the community does not know the potential of gumuk that could
be developed to improve their economies while maintaining sustainability. Steps education and developing the potential of gumuk conducted with community-based so the community get economic profit
directly.
