Pembelajaran Yang Berorientasi Pada Kemampuan Komunikasi Verbal Tentang Definisi Anti Turunan
Abstract
Using an action research approach, the author implemented a study to see the effect of mathematical communication to students understanding on anti-derivative concept. There are 40 first year mathematics education students were involved in this study. The result indicated that there is a tendency that having involved in this study, students’ understanding was improved, and their learning style was changed from rote learning to more reasoning one. However, the percentage of students who are able to communicate mathematically is still unsatisfactory, not more than 15%. Students readiness to be involved in this teaching and learning mode is low, and this mostly is influenced by teaching and learning traditions in other classes which characterized by traditional lecturing. In addition, the high amount of credit hours taken by student in each semester has also discouraged students to prepare themselves to follow the teaching learning mode.
