Analisis Kekeliruan tentang Pertidaksamaan pada Mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika FKIP Universitas Tadulako
Abstract
This research is conducted to know errors about inequality made by students of mathematics education and to know the degree of their achievement. This descriptive research presents the form of errors the students have and its analysis. The subject of this research is 35 students of mathematics education which take Calculus II in 2002/2003 academic year.
The result shows that the degree of students’ achievement in inequality subject is in very low degree. Most errors made are that procedure to solve inequality is the same as the procedure to solve equality and in concluding inequality solution set. Also in fraction inequality, they tend to multiply variables (function in denominator) in both sides.
