PENGGUNAAN MODEL SIKLUS BELAJAR GROUP INVESTIGATION UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KOMPETENSI SISWA DALAM MEMPELAJARI KIMIA

Abstract


Some students of SMA Laboratorium Universitas Negeri Malang have difficulties to understand of atomic structure and chemical bonding concepts. The research objective is to improve teaching quality on learning atomic structure and chemical bonding concepts using learning cycle model and group investigation (LC-GI). This research use classroom action research (CAR) design that divide to two cycles. Research subject is 38 strudents grade X-3 at SMA Laboratorium Universitas Negeri Malang. Result of this CAR showed that implementation of LC-GI model could improve learning process quality. Learning outcome improve from average score 67.7 on cycle I to 75.0 on cycle II. Students that have minimal score 75 are 44.7% on cycle I growing up to 68% on cycle II. Based-on this result, implementation of LC-GI model on teaching high school Chemistry can solve the lack of student’s understanding.
