Potret" Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran Sains pada Berbagai Jenjang Sekolah di Bali

The aim of this research is to describe the teaching of science at various school levels. This is a qualitative research, conducted in four regions of Bali, i.e. North Bali, East Bali, South Bali, and West Bali. It involves 48 science teachers, 16 teachers each for SD, SMP, and SMA. Data are collected through questionnaire and group interview. The results show that (1) the science learning is not yet integrated, and teachers do not much use innovative learning, (2) the teachers face problems of prior knowledge of students and limited facilities, (3) the teaching is facilitated with the availability of resource books, KKG and MGMP, (4) the teachers still believe that teaching is a transfer of knowledge, (5) the teachers teach science gradually and continuously, and (6) the teachers are motivated by their teaching responsibility and student achievements.
