Abstract


Abstract:Tangkoko Nature Reserve is one of protected forest region located in Bitung, North Sulawesi.
Forest Preserve Tangkoko act to protect/conserve animals that inhabit such as wild boar, black monkeys, various species of birds and so forth as endangered species. In this area there are endemic animals
such  as Tarsius  spectrum (tangkasi), Macaca  nigra (black monkey) Ailurops  ursinus (kus-kus)  and
Ciltura cyanotis(king prawns). The existence of endemic animals and some woody species typical of
North Sulawesi has made Tangkoko Nature Reserve as a tourist attraction and the object of study is
quite famous in the world. Tangkoko Nature Reserve recently began threatened because of the settlement widening, therefore, an effort to make people aware of Tangkoko nature reserve conservation is
needed through community education.
