KEBERHASILAN PROSES BELAJAR BIOLOGI DAN PEMBERDAYAAN KETERAMPILAN BERPIKIR TINGGI

Abstract


Abstract: The purpose of this study is to determine: (1) the relationship between higher order thinking
skills (metacognition and critical thinking skills) to the biology learning outcomes and (2) effectively
contribution of higher thinking skills to the biology learning outcomes. The study was conducted in the
odd semester of the school year 2011/2012 at four elementary schools in Ternate. The research results
showed: (1) there is a positive relationship between higher order thinking skills to the biology learning
outcomes and (2) average 86% of a biology learning outcomes is influenced by academic ability, particularly higher thinking skills. Critical thinking skills have a greater effective contribution to theĀ  biology
learning outcomes than metacognition skills.
