Abstract


Abstract: Learning biology as a study in the development of science requires learning appropriate stra-tegies so that students have the competencies that should bepossessed. Empowerment metacognition skills in learning biology is an important skill that is applied to the students in order to train the intellect and increase their knowledge. Empowerment metacognition skills can be acquired through the application of learning strategies PQ4R. This learning strategies help students to undertake a series of activities that aim to train students to thinkempowerment. Metacognition skills possessed students will give strength to the process of long-term memory storage or retention so that students can last a long time which will help further the process of learning and acquiring biology learning achievement in accordance with the competencies students should have.
