Abstract

Abstract: The learning of science in Indonesia is always involving the verbal learning of concepts and principles of science. Such learning leads the students to only acknowledge science terms based on memorizing, but without recognizing the significance. A better learning must be a learning which sharpens and develops the higher level of thinking ability, one such ability is critical thinking ability. Learning by conventional methods such as speech, discussion and inquiry does not sharpen critical thinking ability. Taking the problem into account, the solution is using learning models to sharpen the critical thinking ability of students. One such model is problem-based practicum model. This model involves students who will actively, use all their senses, optimize their ability of thinking and explore the fact in the actual reality by lifting the authentic problem.
