Abstract


The objective of this research was to study and evaluate the improvement of learning achievement in the Education Profession course after remedial teaching. This descriptive research was done with sample of 97 students of the Department of Economics Education, Faculty of Social Science, UNIMA. Sample was students who had passed Education Profession I course during odd semester of 2000/2003. The results showed that after preliminary test of student achievement of the Education Profession I, average student understanding was 70.44%. Overall evaluation, after three rounds of remedial teaching, it was found that the entire sample student (97) has increased their understanding to 77,08% or an increase of 6.64%. It can be concluded that remedial teaching using module, group discussion and student worksheet could improve student understanding of the Education Profession course being taught.
