Abstract


The aim of this paper is to highlight some of attempts at integrating Project-Based Learning approach into the practice of teaching and learning on engineering and vocational education. There are at least five criteria to capture the uniqueness of Project-Based Learning, in attempting to describe the difference between Project-Based Learning and prior models that involved projects. The five criteria are centrality, driving question or problem, constructive investigations, autonomy, and realism. Benefits attributed to Project-Based Learning include: increased motivation, problem-solving ability, decision-making skills, collaboration, and resource-management skills.
