Abstract


Based on an observation, the mastery of cell metabolism concept by students is still low. This is indicated in the low scores of their test. One of the causes is too much material to be learned by the students. To solve this problem, a classroom action research was conducted to trial the use of concept mapping. The research used three cycles. The results show that the use of concept mapping helped increase the students' understanding of the cell metabolism by 9% from cycle one to cycle two, and 14% from cycle two to cycle three.
