Abstract

This research aims to test the correlation between emotional quotient and learning habits, and achievement in mathematics by junior high school students. The data were collected using documentation and questionnaire instruments which were administered to 260 state junior high school students. The data were analysed using regression analysis. The results show that there is a significant positive correlation either partially or wholly among the variables tested, with the coefficient variant of F = 45.056, p < .01 and R = .588 with a determinant coefficient R2 adjusted .338. This means that emotional quotient and learning habits contribute as much as 33.80% of effectiveness to the learning achievement in mathematics.
