Abstract


Various elementary students’ learning problems are caused by extrinsic and intrinsic factors. Certain tricks which are in accordance with the intellectual and emotional characteristics of students are needed to solve the problems. At school Guidance and Counselling unit has the task to solve students’ problems, and is useful to increase student’s achievement. This is a qualitative study to describe the efforts made by the Guidance and Counselling unit to increase the achievement of students of SDN Umbulan, Winongan District, Pasuruan Regency. The findings show that the implementation of planned guidance and counselling service contribute to the increase of students’ achievement.
