Abstract

This classroom action research aims to study how far the application of learning cycles can increase students' motivation and achievement. This research is conducted in three cycles. The subjects are the second year students of SMUN Tumpang in the even semester of 2002-2003 academic year. The findings show that the application of learning cycles to the topic Additive Substance in Food in Chemistry increases the learning quality of the students and also their achievement. Chemistry is no longer seen as a boring subject by the students.
