Abstract


Abstract: The objective of this research is to develop chemistry teaching material used in the teaching of integrated science at junior high school based on the standard of text book evaluation formulated by BSNP. The teaching material developed is packed in a book titled Science-Chemistry for Junior High School. The procedure of development consist of five main steps namely: 1) analyzing the basic competence, 2) analyzing science-chemistry text books, 3) deciding the sequence of basic competence based on the hierarchy and level of SMP/MTs chemistry material, 4) developing science-chemistry text book for SMP/MTs, and 5) evaluation and revision of developed science-chemistry text book.The results indicate that the developed science-chemistry text book is appropriate to be used in teaching integrated science. For the broader dissemination, further evaluation using more subjects of trying out is necessary to be done, so that the developed text book is more appropriate to be used in the teaching of integrated science for junior high school.
