PERKEBUNAN DAN PERDAGANGAN LADA DI LAMPUNG TAHUN 1816-1942

Abstract

Abstrak: Lampung adalah salah satu wilayah yang produksi ladanya dipertahan-kan karena lada hitam lampung termasuk komoditi yang terbaik. Petani lada di-wajibkan untuk menjual produknya kepada pemerintah kolonial melalui kepala-kepala marga. Lada merupakan komoditi wajib untuk ditanam namun dalam ska-la yang kecil. Wilayah produksi lada dibatasi untuk menjaga harga lada. Terdapat beberapa faktor yang menyebabkan kemunduran dan kemajuan perdagangan lada di Lampung yaitu penyakit tanaman, kesalahan dalam mengelola, hama, dan di-gantikan dengan tanaman ekspor lainnya. Dalam pengembangan perkebunan, pemerintah membutuhkan karyawan yang terdidik sehingga memunculkan sekolah-sekolah di berbagai wilayah di Lampung.

Abstract: Lampung is one of areas which produces the black pepper. The product is one of the best commodities therefore it is common to continue the bussiness. The pepper farmer was obliged to sell the product to the colonial government by the chief of ethnics. Pepper is the compulsory commodity which was planted in a small scale. The area of pepper production was limited to keep the prize of pepper. There were some factors which were causing the regress and the progress of pepper trade in Lampung. Those were the pest, the human error in managing, and was replaced by the other export commodities. In the development of plantation, colonial government needed the educated workers therefore this stimulated many schools in Lampung.
