Abstract

Electrical Discharge Machining working processes (EDM) is used to makedies in the manufacture of a product. Material removal rate and surface roughness resultfrom the process is influenced by parameters used. The relationship between the rate ofconstruction materials and surface roughness on the Electrical Discharge Machining(EDM) are very interrelated. It can be seen that the quality of surface roughness can beachieved by running the material processing rate (MRR) at the possible but this wouldincrease production costs. Therefore it is required proper parameter settings. In thisstudy, the process of Die Sinking Electrical Discharge Machining with parameter variationsof electric current 0F 3 amperes, discharge time of 5s, on-time of 30μs, dischargegap of 1 mm and done on carbon steel plate was AISI H-13 by using graphite electrodes. With used dual response surface method and optimization response get result maximummetal removal rate of 14,10087 mm3/min with minimum surface roughness of 3,59 μm.
