Abstract

Scientific literacy is important to be prepared for the younger generation to solve problems in life. Guided inquiry (GI) is strategy that can be used to improve scientific literacy. Blended learning can be integrated in GI (GI-BL), to improve the effectiveness of learning. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of GI-BL to improve scientific literacy of biology students when compared with Structured Inquiry (SI). The results show that GI-BL and SI-BL have significant influence in increasing the scientific literacy compared to SI. GI-BL is more effective in improving validate literature skill, designing scientific research, and fundamental statistic capabilities.
