Pengaruh Problem-Based Learning (PBL) terhadap Keterampilan Berpikir Kritis

Abstract


Geography learning in high school has not been able to develop critical thinking skills, various problems in learning are considered as a boring subject so as less stimulate learners to think critically and less able to solve problems. This study aims to determine the effect of PBL on critical thinking skills in the field of geography study. The orientation of the problem to be raised relates to the material of the maritime axis. The research was conducted with a quasi-experimental design. Data analysis using t test. The subjects of the study were students of class XI IPS in SMA Negeri Barabai. The resulting significance value is 0.00. The results showed that PBL can make the learning of geography effective and efficient, so that the students' critical thinking skills increase.
Pembelajaran Geografi di SMA belum mampu mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir kritis, berbagai masalah dalam pembelajaran dianggap sebagai mata pelajaran yang membosankan sehingga kurang merangsang peserta didik untuk berpikir kritis dan kurang mampu untuk mengatasi masalah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh PBL terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis dalam bidang studi geografi. Orientasi masalah yang akan dimunculkan berkaitan dengan materi poros maritim. Penelitian dilakukan dengan desain eksperimen semu. Analisis data menggunakan uji t. Subjek penelitian adalah peserta didik kelas XI IS di SMA Negeri Barabai. Nilai signifikansi yang dihasilkan adalah 0,00. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa PBL dapat membuat pembelajaran geografi efektif dan efisien sehingga keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik meningkat.
