Abstract

Abstract: The aim of this research is to describe the students’ errors in solving system of equations in three variable problems based on Newman’s Error Analysis. Research subject is students grade X Madrasah Aliyah Al Irtiqo’ who make errors in solving SPLTV problems. The method of this research is test and interviews. The result of this research showed that there are six types of error made by students when solving SPLTV problems. Such errors are reading error, comprehenssion error, transformation error, process skill error, encoding error, and carelless error. The most common error found in this study were transformation, process skill, and encoding.
