Problem Focused Coping Skill untuk Mereduksi Stress Akademik Mahasiswa

Abstract


Abstract: This study aims to determine and reduce the level of academic stress of students through counseling with the Problem Focused Coping Skill technique. The theory used refers to the theory of Lazarus & Folkman which explains the Coping Strategy. The research subject is a final student at the State Islamic University of Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang. This research and development uses the stages proposed by Borg & Gall which only reaches the sixth stage, namely the final product stage. Problem Focused Coping Skill guide products to reduce student academic stress get high scores from expert tests and prospective product users based on the development of acceptability criteria. So that the development of this product can be used by counselors to reduce academic stress experienced by students. The results from the experts showed a very high index value, so that the product of this research was seen from the point of view of acceptability, accuracy, and high accuracy.

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan menurunkan tingkat stress akademik mahasiswa melalui konseling dengan teknik Problem Focused Coping Skill. Teori yang digunakan mengacu pada teorinya Lazarus & Folkman yang menjelaskan tentang Strategi Coping. Subjek penelitian yaitu mahasiswa akhir di Universitas Islam Negeri Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang. Penelitian dan pengembangan ini menggunakan tahapan yang dikemukakan oleh Borg & Gall yang mana peneliti hanya sampai pada tahapan ke enam, yaitu tahapan produk akhir. Pengembangan produk panduan Problem Focused Coping Skill untuk mereduksi stress akademik mahasiswa mendapatkan skor sangat tinggi dari uji ahli dan calon pengguna produk berdasarkan kriteria akseptabilitasnya. Sehingga produk pengembangan ini dapat digunakan oleh konselor untuk menurunkan stress akademik yang dialami mahasiswa. Hasil dari uji ahli menunjukkan nilai indeks yang sangat tinggi sehingga produk penelitian ini dilihat dari segi keberterimaan, ketepatan, dan kelayakan sangat tinggi.
