Peningkatan Keterampilan Menulis Karangan Sederhana dan Aktivitas Belajar pada Siswa Kelas III melalui Penerapan Picture Word Inductive Model

Abstract


Abstract: This research used a classroom action research design. The research objective was to determine the improvement of simple essay writing skills and student learning activities through the implementation of Picture Word Inductive Model (PWIM). This research was conducted in two cycles, each cycle consisting of three meetings with the subject of 35 grade 3rd students. There are two types of data collected, first, qualitative data obtained from observations, interviews, and documents, while the second is quantitative data obtained from written tests. The results show that: 1). implementation of learning through the application of PWIM in cycle I, namely 79% to 88% in cycle II or an increase of 9%, 2). Student learning activities in learning with PWIM have increased in aspects of student activity. Evidenced by the acquisition of a score in cycle I of 71% increased to 79% in cycle II or an increase of 8%, 3). aspects of the ability to make simple essays by applying the Picture Word Inductive model have increased significantly. Evidenced by the acquisition of the class average from the first cycle of 66% to 81% in the second cycle. Then classical completeness in cycle I is 57% to 89% in cycle II. This means that the Picture Word Inductive model can improve the ability to write simple essays and student learning activities.

Abstrak: Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan penelitian tindakan kelas. Tujuan peneliatian untuk mengetahui peningkatan keterampilan menulis karangan sederhana dan aktivitas belajar siswa melalui penerapan Picture Word Inductive Model (PWIM). Penelitian ini dilakukan sebanyak dua siklus yang masing-masing siklus terdiri dari tiga pertemuan dengan subjek sebanyak 35 siswa kelas III. Terdapat dua jenis data yang dikumpulkan yakni pertama, data kualitatif yang diperoleh dari hasil observasi, wawancara, dan dokumen, sedangkan data kedua kuantitatif yang diperoleh dari tes tulis. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa (1) keterlaksanaan pembelajaran melalui penerapan PWIM di siklus I yakni 79% menjadi sebesar 88% pada siklus II atau mengalami peningkatan sebesar 9%, (2) aktivitas belajar siswa dalam pembelajaran dengan PWIM mengalami peningkatan dalam aspek keaktifan siswa. Terbukti dengan perolehan skor pada siklus I sebesar 71% mengalami peningkatan pada siklus II menjadi 79% atau terjadi peningkatan 8%, (3) aspek kemampuan membuat karangan sederhana dengan menerapkan model Picture Word Inductive mengalami kenaikan yang cukup signifikan. Terbukti dengan perolehan rata-rata kelas dari siklus I sebesar 66% menjadi 81% pada siklus II. Kemudian ketuntasan klasikal pada siklus I yakni 57% menjadi 89% pada siklus II. Hal ini berarti model Picture Word Inductive dapat meningkatkan kemampuan menulis karangan sederhana dan aktivitas belajar siswa.
