Abstract


Critical thinking is relates to high level activity covers ability in problem solving, decision making, reflective thinking, creative thinking, and conclusion making. Critical thinking is called as a higher order thinking skill. Student centered learning requires a learner to think critically with creativity, inovation, and supported a curriculum that is supporting the learning. To develop self-regulated learner which empowers all potency in student centered learning, the learning must empower critical thinking, because critical thinking is a core of learning. Student centered paradigm is based on constructivism phylosophy. The constructivist learning emphasizes that in learning, a student constructs his knowledge with new knowledge which is obtained. The ability to construct knowledge relates to the ability of critical thinking. Therefore, constructivist learning as a device for the student to develop critical thinking.
