Pengaruh Strategi Think Pair Share (TPS) dan Kemampuan Akademik terhadap Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis Siswa SMA di Kota Metro

Abstract


The constructivist learning emphasizes that in learning, a student constructs his knowledge with new knowledge which is obtained. The ability to construct knowledge relates to the ability of critical thinking. Therefore, constructivist learning as a device for the student to develop critical thinking. The purposes of this research are to know the effect of TPS strategy toward the critical thinking, to know the effect of interaction between strategy and academic ability toward the critical thinking. This quasi experimental research was conducted by using pretest-postest non-equivalent control group design with 2x2 factorial were implemented in the even semester academic year 2008/2009 Senior High School students in Kota Metro. Based on data analysis and research discussion, the conclusion can be formulated that there was an effect of TPS strategy towards the critical thinking. There was no an effect of interaction between learning strategy and academic ability toward the critical thinking. The researcher suggests that teachers need to implement TPS in biology learning, especially Senior High School students in Kota Metro.
