Abstract


The constructivist approach using learning cycle (LC) model can be applied to the teaching of chemistry if the learning procedure and materials are constructed based on the LC model. The development of learning procedure produces learning scenario and audio-visual learning model for the application of LC model. This is followed by the development of learning materials. This article presents the results of developing LC-based materials for the topic of oil. The learning process follows the phases of exploration, introduction of concept, and application of concept. Each sub-topic is presented in the class following the three phases, so that the students are expected to be able to construct the concept they are learning when they are reading the learning materials.
