KESULITAN MENULIS PERMULAAN PADA ANAK USIA DINI DENGAN KELAINAN TUNAGRAHITA RINGAN

Abstract


Abstract: Early Writing Difficulties in Early Childhood with Mild Mental Retardation Disorders. This study aims to determine the difficulty in writing of mentally retarded children and to find out the cause of the writing difficulty. This study uses qualitative descriptive case study. The subjects were 6 children at Sekolah Luar Biasa in Manado. The data were collected through observations and interviews.The data were also based on some analyses of relevant documents. The results show that writing difficulties in children with mental retardation include 1) difficulties in writing complete words (without missing letter), 2) diffi­culties in sequencing letters, 3) difficulties in letters without upside-down position, and difficulties in dif­ferentiating letters and numbers with similar shapes. The writing difficulties were due to the low concen­tration ability, auditory-memory capacity, visual-motoric perception, and inteligence.

Abstrak: Kesulitan Menulis Permulaan pada Anak Usia Dini dengan Kelainan Tunagrahita Ringan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kesulitan menulis pada anak tunagrahita, dan untuk meng­identifikasi penyebab kesulitan menulis. Desain penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif studi kasus dengan subjek 6 anak di Sekolah Luar Biasa Manado. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui pengamatan, wawan­cara, dan dokumentasi. Data penelitian dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kesulitan menulis pada anak usia dini dengan kelainan tunagrahita adalah menulis secara lengkap (tidak ada yang hilang), menulis secara berurutan, menulis huruf tidak terbalik; dan kesulitan membedakan huruf, angka yang bentuknya hampir sama. Hal itu disebabkan kesulitan memusatkan perhatian, gangguan memori auditori, persepsi visual-motorik, dan rendahnya inteligensi.
