Hubungan Persepsi Klien tentang Konseling dan Ketrampilan Komunikasi Konselor dalam Konseling dengan Pengungkapan Diri Klien

Abstract


The main purpose of this study was to examine the correlation between clients' perception of counseling, counselors' communication skills in counseling and clients' self-disclosure, as well as the differences of clients' self-disclosure in counseling in terms of their sexes. Subjects consisted of four counselors and eight clients. The data were collected by questionnaires and scoring-criteria and analysed by Spearman rank order correlation and Mann-Whitney U test. The findings showed that there was no significant correlation between clients' perception of counseling and self-disclosure in counseling, but there was a positive correlation between counselors' communication skill and clients' self-disclosure. There was no significant difference between clients' self-disclosure in counseling for female and male clients, but there was a difference in clients' self-disclosure toward female and male counselors. Female and male clients were more disclosed toward female-counselors
